Located in the northwest sector of the city, the community
of Dalhousie is bounded by John Laurie Boulevard to the north, Shaganappi Trail
to the east, Crowchild Trail to the south, and Sarcee Trail to the west. The
gently sloping topography is characteristic of the northwest sector, with the
dominant land form being Nose Hill, north of Dalhousie. Dalhousie was annexed to
the city in 1961 and it was substantially developed by the late 1970s. The land
use of this suburb of Calgary is predominantly single family residential and it
is within close proximity to regional shopping centres, the University of
Calgary and S.A.I.T. Dalhousie residents have easy access to the pathway leading
to Nose Hill Park.
